(Randleman, NC) – – Seriously ill kids attending Victory Junction camp are benefitting from a generous new ministry of one North Carolina company. Southern Corrosion, Inc., is making a donation to Victory Junction for every new contract their company signs. Victory Junction is a nonprofit camp for children with serious or chronic medical conditions.
“We were impressed with the fact that Victory Junction hosts all the kids who come for free, and we know that takes financial support. Victory Junction offers week-long campers a fun, exhilarating and challenging experience while providing unobtrusive 24-hour medical supervision, and we felt compelled to help,” said Southern Corrosion President Jim Skilton. “Families should not have to worry about the cost of such a great camp on top of cumbersome medical expenses when their kids are suffering.”
Austin Petty, Victory Junction COO, said the camp and the private company came together for business purposes, and expanded from there. “Victory Junction and Southern Corrosion got acquainted through a business relationship where SCI designed and painted a unique water tank on our 84-acre property in the shape of a hot-air balloon. They share our belief that every child, no matter their illness or medical condition, deserves the chance to just be a kid.”
In the wake of the untimely death of NASCAR driver Adam Petty, Victory Junction was founded in his honor by the Petty family in 2004 as they realized Adam’s dream of creating a camp for children battling serious illnesses or chronic conditions. Since opening its doors in 2004 Victory Junction has served more than 20,000 children and their families in a safe and medically-sound environment at no cost to the camper or their family.
